The 2019 Smyrna High School Bulldogs Football team competed in their third scrimmage of the 2019 season on Friday, Aug. 9 at Beech High School.
The scrimmage was broken into a JV half and a varsity half.
The JV Bulldogs defense allowed 3 TD’s to the Beech JV offense.  While the Bulldogs’ JV offense did not score, it was highlighted by a couple big plays, including a 65 yd. TD run by Freshman WR Antonio Curry called back on a penalty.
The Bulldogs varsity offense scored 1 TD on the night, a 64 yd. TD run by Senior RB Z. Johnson on the Dawgs’ third possession.  K Noah Shalz added the PAT.  Junior WR Terrian Johnson caught 2 passes for 32 yds. to lead the receivers.  The Bulldogs varsity defense allowed 2 scores to the Beech varsity, a 46 yd. TD run vs. the #1 defense, and a 32 yd. TD run vs. the #2 defense.  Senior LB’s Skylar Cagle and Douglas Belcher both played well for the Bulldogs defense.  Senior DB Antonio Proctor had an INT, and Sophomore DE Jeremiah Bailey played well on the defensive line.
