The Bulldogs boys soccer team started off the 2020 season with a dramatic win over cross-town rival Stewarts Creek in penalty kicks. Smyrna had a commanding 4-1 lead with 25 min to play, only to watch the RedHawks score 3 consecutive goals off of long throw-ins into the box. The game ended in a 4-4 tie with the coaches electing to go straight to PK’s prior to the game starting if such a scenario were to take place. The Bulldogs scored all 4 penalty kicks taken, and Travis Hagar stepped up big for the Bulldogs saving 2 penalties out of the 3 he faced. The Bulldogs have won all 3 Mayor’s Cup matches since its establishment, and have not lost to Stewarts Creek while they have been opened.
Goal scorers for the Bulldogs were; Eli Brady, Kevin Avalos, and Brian Perez.
