Riley Gray had all the right stuff on Monday for the softball team, allowing zero runs and besting Central Magnet by a score of 10-0
One bright spot for Central Magnet was a double by Payton Nicholson in the third inning.
Gray led things off on the rubber for Smyrna. The pitcher allowed two hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out six.
Ellie Nath was in the circle for Central Magnet, she surrendered four runs on six hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking one. Caitlin Dodson and Jacey Goetzinger entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two and a third innings and one-third of an inning respectively.
The Lady Bulldogs tallied 13 hits on the day. Lyssi Drayton, Azaria Jones, Emma McDonald, Anna Lay, and Charlotte Marcrum all managed multiple hits.
Drayton led the Purple and Gold with three hits in four at bats. Smyrna didn’t commit a single error in the field. Brylee Bartley had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.
