Since construction on the new gym floor began this summer, the Smyrna Bulldogs had been looking forward to stepping out onto the new court for their first home game of the season against their greatest historical rival. To christen to the new gym floor with a win over Lavergne would have made the past two months of adjustment around the construction worth it. There are some things beyond our control, and one of Coach Vied’s mottos, from former US women’s national team coach Terry Liskevych, has always been “concern yourself with the things you can control or change, don’t worry about the things you can’t.”
That is precisely what the Smyrna Bulldogs did last night. They arrived at Lavergne with parents and players decked out in Beat Lavergne shirts which debuted at last week’s football game, walked in together as a team with their Tailgater bluetooth speaker playing their favorite hype songs. And then they did what Smyrna Bulldogs have a tendency to do… #BeatLavergne

On September 25, 2018 the Smyrna Bulldogs will host the Wolverines at Smyrna High School.
